Privacy Policy
Last updated: 28 June 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what personal data DigitalGods.ai (“The AI Chronicles”, the “Site”) collects, why, and the rights you have. It is written to align with the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
1. Who we are
This Site is operated by Digital Gods (“we”, “us”), the data controller responsible for your personal data. We publish a technology blog focused on artificial intelligence, including articles, editorial commentary, and curated tech RSS feeds. You can contact us using the details in the Contact section below.
2. Information we collect
- Subscriber details — if you sign up as a member or for our newsletter, we collect your email address (and your name, if you provide it).
- Server logs — our hosting automatically records standard request data such as your IP address, browser type, the pages requested, and the date and time. This is used to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the Site.
- Analytics (only with your consent) — if you choose “Accept” in our cookie banner, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the Site is used (pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser). If you decline, no analytics cookies are set and no analytics data is collected.
We do not ask for sensitive personal data, and we do not run advertising.
3. How we use your information, and our legal basis
- To provide membership and send newsletters you have requested — on the basis of your consent or to perform our service to you (Article 6(1)(a)/(b) GDPR).
- To operate, secure, and improve the Site, including server logs and responding to your enquiries — on the basis of our legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
- For analytics — only on the basis of your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you may withdraw at any time.
4. Cookies and analytics
By default the Site sets only the essential cookies needed for core functions (for example, to keep you signed in as a member). If you accept analytics in our cookie banner, Google Analytics sets measurement cookies such as _ga and _ga_*; if you decline, none are set. You can change your analytics choice at any time, or use Google’s opt-out browser add-on. For more, see the Google Privacy Policy.
5. Sharing and service providers
We do not sell your personal data or share it for others’ marketing. We share data only with the service providers (processors) that help us run the Site, under appropriate data-processing terms:
- Google — analytics (only if you consent).
- Our email/newsletter delivery provider — to send membership and newsletter emails you have requested.
- Our hosting provider — to serve the Site.
We may also disclose data where required by law.
6. Data retention
We keep subscriber details for as long as you remain a member or subscriber, and delete them on request. Server logs are retained for a limited period (typically up to 30 days) and then deleted, unless needed to investigate abuse or meet a legal obligation. Analytics data, where you consent, is retained according to our Google Analytics configuration and Google’s policies.
7. International transfers
Some of our providers (including Google) are based in the United States, so your data may be transferred there. Those transfers rely on appropriate safeguards, such as the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework and Standard Contractual Clauses.
8. Your rights
Subject to the GDPR, you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal data, and to data portability. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time. To exercise any of these, contact us below. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority — in the EU/EEA, your local Data Protection Authority; in the UK, the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
9. Children’s privacy
The Site is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
